EXCLUSIVE: Blues could be pleased as Director is ready to invest in Birmingham City player

On January 9th, reporter Alfredo Pedullà hinted that Atalanta might present a revised offer for Birmingham City’s Jordan James, following their initial proposal of €5m plus bonuses.

TuttoMercatoWeb recently reported that the midfielder has reached a complete agreement with Atalanta for a contract until 2028, with an annual value of €750,000. Additionally, there were indications that Atalanta was proceeding cautiously in their talks with Birmingham City.

L’Eco di Bergamo, relayed by Tutto Atlanta, state the Birmingham City player’s profile and qualities make him an ideal candidate for La Dea’s midfield.

The Wales international has scored six goals from 28 appearances this season and his deal lasts until 2025, with an option for another year.

It’s said Atalanta director Lee Congerton is ‘ready to invest’ in securing the 19-year-old’s services with an offer estimated between €7m and €10m. It’s not made clear whether or not this includes bonuses.

From a financial point of view, this may be tempting for Birmingham City, and is more than previous claims.

Congerton is determined to bring James to Atalanta, with the aim for him to be a potential starter for the club from next season.

However, as stated previously, not everyone at the Serie A club is quite as convinced.
