“Emery would never negotiate any other job now, but the entire board, including Monchi and Damia Vidagany, are working together for the big targets” -Fabrizio Romano spills update on Aston Villa boss

It’s been a fantastic week for Aston Villa, securing their first European final since 1982 and significantly boosting their Premier League top-four aspirations.

Over the weekend, Unai Emery’s Villans secured a 2-0 victory at Arsenal. Coupled with Tottenham’s substantial defeat against Newcastle, Villa now sits three points ahead of fifth-placed Spurs.

On Thursday night, Villa pushed Lille to penalties in the Europa Conference League and emerged winners in the shoot-out, securing a spot in the final four.

Emery’s remarkable work at Villa Park has not gone unnoticed. While this attention can have its drawbacks, Fabrizio Romano has provided a positive update amid Villa’s impressive week.

Romano, writing on GiveMeSport, says Emery is “very happy” at Villa, with the entire hierarchy working in unison to ensure progress and success.

And while Romano couldn’t guarantee what may happen in the summer, he stressed that Emery will not entertain any offers while the season is ongoing.

“Emery is very happy where he is,” wrote Romano.

“Villa are doing something special together with Emery, but the entire board, including Monchi and Damia Vidagany, are working together for the big targets. So they’re very, very happy together.

“Emery would never negotiate any other job now, so I think the full focus is obviously on doing something, especially in Europe and the Premier League with Aston Villa.

“Then we will see if another club arrives.”
